HI, I’M AVA WICK

Photography has always been my way of understanding the world. Guided by curiosity and a careful eye for detail, I started sharing a camera with my twin sister Annika at a young age. We would take over everyday spaces and turn them into sets, always finding ways to play and explore. That early instinct to create and experiment continues to shape the way I approach photography today.

My work explores girlhood, identity, and the intimacy of people. I’m drawn to images that feel spontaneous and alive, capturing the little moments that feel honest and real. I love finding the interesting things about the person in front of my camera while also letting something slightly surreal unfold.

As a commercial photography student at SCAD, I’m continuing to explore my own perspective and what draws me to an image. For me, photography is a way to connect with people, explore ideas, and turn the things I’m curious about into something I can share.
